The first period was a real goaltending clinic, particularly from Boris Talja in the Valkeakoski net. He was busier than a bee in a flower shop, facing an incredible eleven saves in just the opening twenty minutes. While Talja was deflecting shots like a seasoned magician, the Cow's finally broke the deadlock through Karim Krannola, followed swiftly by a solo effort from Emirhan Mopu. The Chomelix Cow's really started to flex their muscles, showcasing some impressive kiekonhallinta, leaving Valkeakoski scrambling.
